2018 IN REVIEW
It's been a busy year with many miles covered. Now it's time to look back and relax ...
James' World Longtrack campgain has been solid and consistent. He made 3 out of the 5 Grand Finals, with his best place a 3rd at Eenrum in The Netherlands. This consistency paid dividends as James finished 5th in the overall standings and continues on in the competition for the 2019 campgain.
In the Team Longtrack Championship held at Morizes in France, James top scored for Team GB with 19 points as they came home with a Silver medal.
It was also Silver for James at this year's British Masters Championship. He was unbeaten going into the Winner-Takes-All final, but picked up a puncture on the first lap meaning James came home in 2nd place. Nonetheless it still gives James automatic selection for next year's European Championship.
In open grasstrack competitions across Europe James has had a good deal of success with wins at Dingolfing, Willing, Melsungen, Staphorst and Wertle ... including winning the grand handicap final at Wertle. In fact, James has only been off the rostrum twice this year - once due to a fall and once due to a mechanical failure.
